Last Monday, the children made another trip to Caroline Court Day Centre. It was perfect weather for a springtime walk! This time we were performing Easter/Spring-themed songs for the delight of the Day Centre visitors. The children wore their Easter hats that they’d decorated themselves and we were greeted with a round of applause as soon as they got through the door, even before commencing the performance! The children sang Chick, Chick Chicken, Little Green Frog and Mrs. Bunny. It was nice to look around the room; the children spotted Easter crafts on display and a woodland animals collage. They practised their conversation skills with our friends at the Centre. There were introductions of names and excited comments from the children. What a lovely morning!
During the week all the children learned to create their own egg baskets, using a toilet roll
tube, a card circle, paint and some ribbon. These were in preparation for chocolate eggs that the Easter bunny would leave! We practised hiding and hunting different things during outdoor play all week! We used frogs and eggs. The children really enjoyed making their own hunting games, hiding items for their friends to find. On Thursday the children hunted for 64 little chocolate eggs together. All were found, then divided up into the children’s baskets to take home. On Friday, we held our annual chick hunt in the woods. The children worked together in groups to find the chicks and to count and check that we had rescued them all!
